Send us an e-mail message with your voice message attached. You'll get an analysis of mispronunciations and suggestions of how to reduce your accent plus a recording by a native-born American saying exactly what you said.
Your PC must have a sound card, microphone, and speakers to record your message.
START HERE:
1. Go to Sound Recorder:
Press Start
Select Programs.
Select Accessories.
Select Multimedia/Entertainment.
Select Sound Recorder.
2. Record your voice message:
Press the Record button.
Speak clearly into your PC's microphone. Try to speak naturally, while you read this:
"What's the temperature outside?"
"It's thirty-six degrees."
"Gosh, that's almost freezing, isn't it?
"Yes, Sharon, and the wind actually makes it feel colder than what the thermometer says."
"Let's stay inside, George."
Press the Stop button when you are finished speaking.
Press Play to listen to what you've recorded. Listen to make sure the recording is good.
Save the recording by clicking on File and Save As.
Type a name for the file in the Save As dialog box.
Click Save.
3. Send your email to accenttutor@speechcom.com and attach your voice message. (Use the standard method for attaching files to e-mail in your e-mail software.) We do not open emails with blank subject lines.
